Nearly a thousand student teams and young teams from both domestic and overseas locations, totaling almost ten thousand young participants, are taking part. The event will connect with overseas technology education resources, collaborate with North American institutions, and engage foreign scholars and engineers alongside Chinese experts to form a mentor team, providing professional guidance to participating teams.

The competition aligns with current popular topics in digital technology and artificial intelligence development, addressing industry-specific demands. It aims to drive global collaboration and innovation in digital intelligence, stimulate innovation and entrepreneurship, and attract young talent to contribute to the flourishing global digital economy. The competition encompasses five key areas: artificial intelligence, large language models, industrial metaverse, connected vehicles, and intelligent sensing. Its purpose is to leverage the competition's significance in the digital age and chart new paths for the future of intelligence.
Question Setting
This event is collaboratively organized by enterprises and universities. Companies propose relevant topic schemes based on global technological trends and evaluate students' abilities and developed products. Outstanding teams may receive interview invitations or even employment offers.Universities, leveraging professional societies, organize high-level experts to propose related topic schemes based on cutting-edge technology hotspots.

Related Activities
During the finals, various activities such as keynote forums, youth maker forums, partner matchmaking, and maker marathon rainbow runs will be organized. Globally renowned experts and scholars, as well as angel investors, will conduct technology lectures and dialogues. The organizers will also establish academic exchange partnerships with overseas institutions, creating opportunities for Chinese overseas students to return and engage in exchanges with employers for employment opportunities.

Competition Format and Important Dates
EduHacks 2023 consists of three stages: Screening, preliminary round, and finals.
Registration & Screening

Teams register for the competition and submit relevant materials. After evaluation by the expert committee, 400 teams will be selected to advance to the Preliminary round.
Preliminary Round

Teams optimize their products based on their chosen themes within the specified time frame and submit updated works. After evaluation by the expert committee, 2 teams will be selected to participate in the finals.
Final Round
January 6,
2024 5PM
Teams that qualify for the finals will compete with 2 teams from China through interactions, including mutual questioning between teams and questioning by judges. The expert committee will provide comprehensive scores based on the live situation to determine the final rankings.
Prize Setup
Winning teams and individuals will receive certificates and rewards. Awards include one championship(US$4222.08), three first prizes (US$1407.36), sixteen second prizes(US$562.94), and several third prizes. Special awards from collaborating companies, including the title sponsor award (reward amount to be flexibly determined by the title sponsor), will also be presented.

Organizational Structure & Responsibilities
Competition Organizing Committee
Responsible for the organization and implementation of the competition. This includes the development of the overall competition plan, event scheduling and organization, approval of judging rules, appointment of judging expert groups, publicizing and final confirmation of the final judging results, as well as the development, review, and publication of other relevant competition documents. The Competition Organizing Committee includes functional groups such as event planning and implementation, technical support, media promotion, external liaison logistics, and thematic activities, responsible for the execution and implementation of related work.
Expert Committee
The Expert Committee consists of high-level experts from well-known companies, industry experts, renowned scholars from universities, and technical experts. It is responsible for guiding competition judging, providing advisory services, reviewing competition judging methods, refining project evaluation rules, selecting and forming judging expert groups, and guiding question formulation, among other tasks. The Expert Committee includes several positions such as Chief Expert, Director, Deputy Director, and several Members.
Eligibility
Participants in the Eduhacks2023 must be university students aged below 35 and young individuals with less than 1 years of professional experience. Participants are responsible for understanding their legal rights to attend and participate in this event and must carry official government-issued identification as proof of participation in the competition.
Team Formation
Each participating team should consist of 5 members. Each team must have one team leader who serves as the team's point of contact and representative. The team leader cannot be changed, and each person can participate in only one team. It is recommended to evenly distribute skills among team members, such as product designers, front-end engineers, back-end engineers, algorithm engineers, and business planners.

Topic Requirements
The competition encourages participants to choose topics with a technological core in artificial intelligence, intelligent manufacturing, and digital technology. There are five specific themes: artificial intelligence, large language models, industrial metaverse, connected vehicles, and intelligent sensing. Teams are required to select one of these themes and create works that have societal significance and industrial value by combining innovative concepts and cutting-edge technology.
Presentation Requirements
Work prototypes should be completed based on open-source components or open-source hardware platforms. Teams are expected to work on improving, upgrading, and testing the product prototype. The work prototype should demonstrate certain innovative functionalities, either in hardware or software. Any additional submission requirements should follow the guidelines provided by the competition platform
Tech stacks
Participants are free to choose their tech stacks and use relevant tools and equipment.
Innovation Requirements
Teams can continuously improve their works during the competition, and the submitted solutions must be imaginative and innovative. The competition organizing committee will conduct innovation searches on the products and provide the search results to the judging committee as a reference for scoring.
Intellectual Property Requirements
Intellectual property rights of the participating works belong to the participants, but consideration should be given to the rights of the competition organizers and host. The organizing and host entities have the right to permanently and freely use the works for demonstration, partial or full publication worldwide (without disclosing technical details). Participants must ensure the originality of their works and not infringe upon any third-party intellectual property or other rights.

Participation in the EduHacks 2023 Hackathon Competition is restricted to currently university students only.
What is a Hackathon and can I participate in if I never done one?
A hackathon is an event where participants use their knowledge and skills to create, develop, design, and promote a solution to a specific problem within the designated time frame. Don't worry, at EduHacks, participants are not required to have any prior hackathon experience. We have experienced professionals available to assist you and your team during the event.
What do I need for the Hackathon?
Your innovative idea and a working computer.
How many people can be on a team? What should I do if I don't have a team?
Each team can have a maximum of 5 members. You can work on your own, but we encourage you to go out and make new friends! You can use our HackHub platform to meet new people and form your own team before the hackathon.
Does EduHacks have a code of conduct?
Yes and all participants must adhere to EduHacks' code of conduct!
